Lullaby

Just a random question....

Can keeping my budgies up till either 9-10pm and then waking them up at 530am (so my sleeping pattern) be a long term mental problem for the birds because it isnt long enough sleep for them?  As I often hear they like a good sleep....

Note: once the sun goes down we dont have bright lights on so its a dim light and with the tv on. Plus when I have dinner I sit with them and play with them after dinner for an hour so they are not getting any sleep until i go to bed.

Budgies require up to 12 hours of sleep, but a very large portion of that time is taken up in short naps spread throughout the day. 7.5 to 8.5 hours of sleep may be a bit on the low side for the birds, but it is not bad, so long as they have periods of peace and quiet to nap in.
